Queen Elizabeth

SHADE ONLY. This is that last of these textiles to make this style shade. The textiles include, the center piece or focal point, is from an Antique Hand Embroidered, European Vestment Garment from 1700's to 1800's. All of the trims covering the shade are Antique or Vintage vestment trims. Side panels are covered with a golden silk, embroidered with faux pearls. Gorgeous Antique metallic gold lace on four panels. Eight hand dyed, hand made tassels adorn shade. Silk lining is hand dyed in a watercolor wash of rich gold into a burgundy red. Beaded fringe hangs over 6" silk fringe. This can work well on a floor lamp base or a Table lamp base.

Dimensions: 6"round top. 15" Curved Cut Corner Square bottom. 9" Deep. Washer flush. 15" from top of shade to bottom of fringe, with tassels hanging down to an
18 1/2" length.

Flower Pagoda

This shade was a custom order for a client. This shade is covered in an iridescent taupe silk velvet with antique Chinese silk embroidered floral designs and butterflies. This is a large shade that belongs on a floor lamp. Comment from client when she saw photos of the completed shade: "OH MY GAWD! WOW WEE!! Yes, 'Flower Pagoda' is absolutely beautiful! I am so overwhelmed by it, my hairs on my arms are standing on end ... really! Jim and I just saw your photos together and we both feel like you've brought us down to our knees. What a masterpiece! Gandolf's Lamp

This is one of the prettiest shades that I have ever made, because of the amazing textiles used. All of the textiles, including the trims, are either from the 1700's or 1800's. The colors and textures are really striking. Textiles include: Antique panne silk velvet, that has been hand dyed in a deep cranberry red into a rich gold, plum/red damask silk, with chenille and antique gold metallic embroidery, chenille needlepoint, in colors of moss green and plum, metallic net lace, 4 hand made tassels made from Antique gold metal fringe, variety of Antique vestment trims. The only textile that is new, is the hand dyed silk fringe. The purple, plum iridescent glass hand beaded fringe is also new.

Magic

Wonderful antique bridge lamp base, that has been hand painted to match shade. This was a custom order for client, so it is already sold. I wanted to post photos of this lamp to show potential clients more examples of my work. The client wanted me to create this shape shade, with the purples, plums, and golds. She also asked me to "find" her a base to go with the shade. I found this base, fell in love with it. I emailed photo of base to client, and she was thrilled. So I refinished it, and painted it to go with the colors of the shade. If you want a base to go with a "custom shade" just ask! Merlin

Tuscany in the Morning

This is a wonderful large Tulip lamp shade, made from Antique Tambour lace. This has been newly made, with antique and Vintage textiles. This shade will work best on an Antique floor lamp base, as you will see in photos. The main focal point is from an Antique French Tambour lace runner, with a vase of green grapes and vines. I have never seen a Tambour lace piece like this before. The side panels are made from an Antique French Tambour lace bedspread from the 1800's. The silk lining and fringe is dyed in the most beautiful shades of moss greens, sage greens, salmon, and rose. There is embroidered Antique French trim, from the early 1900's accenting the sides of the lamp. Long beige, glass crystal, hand beaded fringe, adorn shade. Four hand made tassels at four corners of shade. This is a Beauty!

Old Monterey

This lamp shade is shown on a floor lamp base, but it can also be put onto a table lamp base, as you can see, if you look at the other photos. This was really hard to capture in photos. When the lamp is turned off... the colors are very subdued....as soon as you turn the lamp on... BAM... colors are rich and bold! You can't tell from the photos, but the main colors in this shade are TEAL and GOLD... the rest of the colors are a blending of rich, muted accent colors. I'll try my best to explain. The main fabric on the shade is an antique French metallic lace, with purple and sage green embroidered roses. The silk lining underneath is hand dyed in shades of soft teal, into a sage green. There is a wide trim made of a silk organza with gunmetal gray metallic and gold floral designs. Two centerpiece panels have a "crunched" gun metal sheer metallic fabric with a bronze metal beaded appliqué in center. There is also hand dyed velvet trim, 7 inches silk hand dyed variegated fringe in shades of gold into teal, as well as gold into wine. Handmade tassels to match. To top it off is gunmetal glass beaded fringe, as well as teal glass beaded balls to adorn this shade.

Dimensions: 3" round top, 10 x 13"around bottom, 12" to bottom of fringe, and another 14" to bottom of tassels.

Imperial Dragon

Large exotic shade made with two wonderful antique hand-embroidered dragons and ocean waves on both sides of shade. This exquisite embroidery was taken off a Chinese emperor's robe from the 1800's. The robe was in sad shape, but the embroidery was still intact and beautiful. I love bringing these painstaking "works of art", back to life. Raw silk fabric that is dyed in variegated tones of teal and taupe cover rest of shade. Four handmade tassels, and silk fringe. Blushing Chic

Beautiful angular shaped shade covered with antique French Tambour lace from the late 1800's. Lining and silk fringe is dyed in variegated colors of blush, peach, and ivory that glows through the shade, whether lit or not. Austrian crystals placed delicately on lace to adorn shade. Starburst Flapper

Wonderful large Starburst lamp shade that is covered with what, once was a 1920's flapper dress. Gorgeous pale pink silk chiffon fabric that is covered with very Art Deco designs in beaded embroidery. Silk Fringe is also from the early 1900's, and is 19" long. The shade is basically done in tones of Ivories, pale pinks,and peach, when not lit. Beautiful hues of peach, and lavenders shine through shade when lit.

Morning Glory

This shade consists of a mixture of monochromatic antique textiles in different values of soft pale taupe, beige and ivory. The textiles used on this shade, are from late 1800's to early 1900's. The hand embroidered "silk on silk" is from a ball gown from the late 1800's. The rhinestones and jewels applied to the shade are from a 1920's flapper dress. The entire shade is in ivory's and pale taupe's, until you turn on the light....then it turns into a warm "sunrise to sunset" variegated peach. Antique 17", hand knotted silk fringe from the 1920's adorn shade. Four long hand made silk tassels are at the bottom of the four main panels of shade. Clear glass beads that look like icicles glistening in the sun, drip off shade in four corners.

Heavenly

Heavenly large tulip shade with antique hand embroidered French Tambour lace from the 1800's on the four main panels of the shade. This Tambour netted lace was once a gorgeous bedspread from the past.The lace itself is ivory with delicate flowers in soft pastel colors of peach, lavender, pink, and gold embroidered onto the lace. Chinese Electric Nights

Shade only. I made this shade for my mother. I wanted to put this on my web site for people to see the different range of style shades that I can create for people. I can make a similar shade for anyone that is interested. This shade has a gorgeous hand embroidered Chinese military rank badge from the early 1900's on it's front panel. The rest of the main panels are covered with a sheer navy blue and gold iridescent metallic fabric, that almost looks "electric" Amber colored glass beaded fringe adorn shade. Large cathedral type lamp shade made with very old antique silk ivory appliqués with rhinestones and bead work in six windows of lamp. In-between "windows" is sewn gorgeous embroidered ribbon from the turn of the century, France. Hand crocheted silver mesh fabric with beaded embroidery on very top of shade. This lamp looks like it belongs in an Old English library, thus it's name. Large turbin shaped shade is covered in various vintage upholstery fabrics. Antique embroidered French ribbons adorn lamp. Rich colors of tomato red, rust, tan, browns, and gold's give this lamp a warm glow that will adorn any room. Taupe silk velvet is gathered at the top of the shade, with antique gold mesh lace in between each panel. Glass and stone beads hang from shade. The story goes that this lamp once belonged to " the Great Oz". The magical shades of emerald greens delight the eye, whether lit or not.
